This a site dedicated to the 34th International Mining Games which took place on the 31st March & 1st April 2012 and the 40th International Mining Games 30th – 31st March 2018, both held at King Edward Mine, Troon, Cornwall, UK.

The IMG is held every year in memory of the 91 miners who died in the Sunshine Mine disaster of 1972 . Mining students from around the world gather to compete in historic mining skills to keep those skills alive and remind them that until very recently mining was a very hands on industry.

The 2012 event saw 34 teams from Australia, Germany, The Netherlands & the USA join with their Cornish hosts to celebrate through competition.

By 2018 the event had grown to 40 teams from Europe, North America, South America, Australia and, of course, Cornwall.

Hard copies of the 2012 team photos have been submitted to the Camborne School of Mines archive where they will be kept with over 300 years worth of local mining data, memorabilia and lore.
