This a site dedicated to the 34th International Mining Games held at King Edward Mine, Troon, Cornwall on the 31st March & 1st April 2012.

We hope to update the photos here in 2018 when the 40th anniversary of the IMG is held, once again, in Cornwall.

The IMG is held every year in memory of the 91 miners who died in the Sunshine Mine disaster of 1972 . Mining students from around the world gather to compete in historic mining skills to keep those skills alive and remind them that until very recently mining was a very hands on industry. This year saw 34 teams from Australia, Germany, The Netherlands & the USA join with their Cornish hosts to celebrate through competition.

Hard copies of the team photos have now been submitted to the Camborne School of Mines archive where they will be kept with over 300 years worth of local mining data, memorabilia and lore.
